Eggshells :: Winter White Coat, Skirt and Sweater

Runway; Winter White; Eggshell; Cream; Blogger; Skirt; Sweater; Coat; Gray boots

Stepping on eggshells, literally! I love wearing creams, eggshells and winter white during the cold season. The color although a neutral, is very robust and versatile hence its subtle boldness makes a declaration. I paired a wool band waist rear double split skirt and a small honeycomb pullover knit sweater together. I draped the look with a lightweight wrap coat. I also kept the neutrals in a monochrome fashion by pairing with my favorite silver jewelry and silver cap toe dark gray booties with a gray and black clutch for a dressy casual chic style. Fall-ish :: Black Lace Top & Flare Tiered Skirt

Bridging fall and winter together. I layered a black lace top and a voluminous flared tiered skirt that translate girly girl. The element gives more of a party style and a less traditional look. This outfit is great for a holiday community gathering or a chic cocktail party. I combined the top and skirt with wrap around tie heels. To unite the style I layered the whiskey mink texture over the black to elevate the look. The autumnal accents of the leaves in the backdrop provide a nice color scheme.

Holiday Style :: Scarlet Silk Top & Black Leather Skirt

It’s really starting to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere I go! It’s unbelievable that we are at year end for 2016. We have just finished Thanksgiving and now the Christmas season. I really don’t know where the time went. Playing with holiday colors, I put together this color block of a scarlet silk blouse that has a layered scarf front and a tie waist. The black leather pencil skirt is a staple for fall. I finished the skirt and blouse with a tan leather trench. I added a bit of embellishment with the chestnut handbag and gray cap toe booties. Black Friday :: All Black Everything

Yay! It’s Black Friday! One of the biggest shopping days for the last quarter when everyone rushes out to the malls and Walmart to catch the best sales that this season can offer. I for one am more excited about Cyber Monday. I am a fan of shopping after Thanksgiving, but I will pull out this year. My energy level is not up to par for the crowds and all the walking. I will browse the internet to find out what is offered and may be tempted. At present, I really don’t need anything and could use a few big ticket items hence, I can wait patiently for after Christmas. Fire Engine :: Black and White Stripe Dress

fire-engine-stripes-1Who needs a black and white dalmatian to pose on a truck when you can have a stylish blogger outside your doors, just kidding! Playing with stripes in this slim monochrome black and white stretch stripe dress punctuated with a cascading flounce wrap-effect ruffle positioned on the sided for a flattering draped effect. I adore the edgy aesthetic of this piece that can easily transition from day to night. Since the dress has a long hem line that covers the knee, I styled it with a metallic gold embellished heel black leather luxe boot. I used the back drop as an accessory to give this look a high-impact punch. [Read more…]

Sapphire :: Blue Lace Blouse & Skirt

blue-lace-1; blue lace top, blue lace skirt, runway

The shades of blue ensemble are perfect for fall. Creating an outfit of pieces that were created previously on the blog with a few additions of the blue lace top and skirt. To give the look a seamless appearance of a splendid dress by banding the pieces with my favorite black wide waist belt for more of a contemporary style. I kept accessories on the neckline understated since the blouse has a scalloped silhouette. I added in my navy clutch, a vibrant blue nail polish conveying a distinguished look for mid-day church service and an encore brunch. Symbolic blue is royalty, worn by princes and presidents and the color of a serious businesswoman. I finished the look off with a wool coat and black accents.

Pink Minnie :: Black Velvet Blazer and Sequin Pants

Today’s style inspiration is drawn in as we move closer to the holidays. Somewhere between January and summer, the time has simply flown by. I coupled these dressier sequin (sweat) pants with a charming classic velvet blazer that’s embellished with satin lapels for a chic look. To draw extra attention to the outfit, I added my favorite shade of pink featuring a prissy Minnie Mouse, a bold red lip and dark brown polish. I included in the nude pumps with bow as a casual staple mixed with an embossed clutch to finish the look.

Corporate Style :: Black Peplum Blouse and White Pencil Skirt

Styling basic uniform colors of black and white with two staple pieces the black peplum top and a pencil skirt. I love the classic essence of the peplum it looks very corporate for an evening gathering for cocktails. The affordable pencil skirt is equally a hit that it snugs the hips for a nice silhouette. I added the bold fashion pearls to give the top accents around the neckline. I tailored the look with hosiery along with silver accented black suede pumps. [Read more…]

Pink :: Breast Cancer Awareness

We are aware that one of the cool things about the month October is Breast Cancer Awareness. Breast Care for all women is vital, particularly due to genetics, lifestyle and, and age. In the District there are so many campaigns for the cause. If you are like me, you may have lost love ones to the battle and praying for and donating for extensive research to find a cure and quality care to women (and men) who have been diagnosed with the disease.
